Pakistan Salary Tax Calculator

Monthly and yearly tax on salary, by tax year.

Estimate income tax on your salary in Pakistan for Tax Year 2027 (July 2026 – June 2027) under the Finance Act 2026, and see monthly tax, take-home pay and your effective rate. Tax years are stored as data, so new budgets can be added without changing the calculator.

How to use

  1. Choose the tax year.
  2. Enter your taxable salary as a monthly or annual figure.
  3. Add any other taxable salary income such as a bonus.
  4. Read your monthly and annual tax and take-home pay.

Example (Tax Year 2027)

A monthly salary of Rs 150,000 is Rs 1,800,000 a year. That falls in the Rs 1.2m–2.2m slab: Rs 6,000 + 11% of Rs 600,000 = Rs 72,000 a year, or Rs 6,000 a month — an effective rate of 4%.

How slab tax works

Pakistan's salaried slabs are progressive: each slab sets a fixed amount plus a percentage of income above the slab's starting point. Only the part of your income above that threshold is taxed at the higher rate, so moving into a higher slab never reduces your take-home pay.

For Tax Year 2027 the first Rs 600,000 is tax-free, and rates then rise through 1%, 11%, 20%, 25%, 29% and 32% to 35% on income above Rs 7 million. The Finance Act 2026 also abolished the 9% surcharge that applied to salaried individuals earning over Rs 10 million.

What this estimate doesn't include

Tax credits (for example on certain donations, pension contributions or insurance), adjustments for tax already withheld, and special rules for some allowances or employer-provided benefits. Your employer's payroll figure may differ slightly for these reasons.

Good to know

  • Enter taxable salary — if part of your pay is exempt, remove it first.
  • Salaried status matters: business and property income use different rules.
