Why character counts differ between apps

Emoji and some symbols are stored as more than one unit internally. ZIYNU counts what you see as characters, which matches most modern platforms. SMS is a special case: messages with emoji or non-Latin scripts such as Urdu are limited to 70 characters per segment rather than 160.

Do spaces count as characters?

Usually yes. Most limits (social posts, meta descriptions) include spaces. The “without spaces” count is for assignments that ask for it.

How long should a meta description be?

Around 150–160 characters is a common guide, because search engines often shorten longer descriptions.

Are line breaks counted?

Yes, each line break counts as one character, as it does on most platforms.
